As a mental health professional, I believe that you are the expert on you – my role is meet you where you are on your journey, and provide the support, education, and tools to help you along your path. My work is based in cognitive behavioral therapies and motivational interviewing, but I believe in flexibility and personalizing the therapeutic experience. My specializations are addiction-related disorders (including Korsakoff’s syndrome), caregivers, parenting children with chronic health issues or special needs, gaming and gambling disorders, and aviation professionals.
I hold bachelor’s degrees in music education and psychology from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree in counselor education from The Ohio State University, and I am a doctoral student in addiction psychology at Capella University (in dissertation). I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and a Licensed School Counselor in North Carolina. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Licensed School Counselor in Ohio. I am a Registered Telehealth Provider in Florida. In addition to state licensure, I am also an International Certified Gambling Counselor, Board Certified-Telemental Health Professional, and trained in Critical Incident Stress Management. I accept Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Optum, UMR, Aetna, CIGNA, Magellan, and Morneau Shepell/Lifeworks EAP.
