Aldi founded Gaines Therapy PLLC in 2018. She grew up in Maryland and lived in Paris for three years. After living in Northern Virginia for twelve years, Aldi relocated to the Carolinas with her family in 2016 where she found great joy exploring the many beaches in the area and fell in love with the mountains during summer and fall family vacations. She places great personal value on relationships which translates to a passion for supporting her clients with creating healthier relationships with themselves and their loved ones.
Aldi’s journey to becoming a healer began in 2009 with a vision of creating a safe and non-judgmental space that promotes emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical healing. Aldi’s warm heart and unwavering compassion helps her gently guide her clients towards cultivating self-compassion as well as gaining a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and needs to achieve a greater sense of authenticity, peace, and joy in their lives.
Aldi holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and she is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. Her clinical practice has focused on providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds in various clinical settings and levels of care, including community mental health/substance abuse agencies, and a psychiatric hospital.
Aldi currently provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and adolescents (ages 16 & up). She specializes in treating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and substance use disorders. Aldi provides support through life transitions, managing self-esteem and body image issues, and coping with anger, stress, and conflict. She primarily utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in her clinical practice.
